the problem
Anxious parents
Parents are anxious for the safety of their minor children.
Nowadays parents are more than ever anxious about the well-being of their children. Smartphones allow them to easily know where their child is and to be updated about their status.
However, sometimes it can further stimulate their anxiety. At the same time, it requires a lot of time and effort from the anxious parent.
Parents are anxious for the safety of their minor children.
To start understanding the big picture and the problem, I examined the big players in the market as well as parallel markets; navigation apps, scooter rental apps and more. I read the user reviews of the various products to get an understanding of what can be improved.
To allow easy navigation between family members, we will place the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
To make it easier for the user to add family members we will allow the parent to add them through his or her contacts during the onboarding stage.
To understand the pain points I interviewed 3 parents of children between the ages of 6 and 18 who own a smartphone.
To allow parents to stay up to date on events that occur next to their child's environment when an event occurs we will ask them for permission to send notifications.
To reassure the parent about reaching the destinations, when possible, we will attach an icon that represents the place where the child is (home, school, café, etc.)
A sense of security and control.
The app presents the main value they will get during the onboarding - a sense of security and control.
After the parent registers the app allows him with one click to attach family members.
On the main page the parent can view the whole family on the map.
When one of the family members is chosen one can see more extensive and specific information.
